It has been a busy week for Apprentice Coordinator, Frances Rice, who has been out celebrating Scottish Careers Weeks by speaking to young people about Clydebuilt careers.
First up, a trip to St Columba’s High School in Gourock for its careers event last week with 3rd year apprentices Jacob Brisland and Ryan Robinson, speaking to pupils about the many career pathways possible at Ferguson Marine.
Then onto Clydebank College for STEM West 2025, to inspire young people to choose STEM subjects at school. Across the two-day event, Frances was joined by 3rd year shipwright apprentices Euan Crosbie and Ryan Robinson, 2nd year apprentice welder Gary Devlin and 2nd year apprentice fabricator Sam Casement. It was also great to see 1st year apprentice welders, pipefitters and fabricators who came to say hello while they were at college.
Much of our workforce comes from our local community and it has been great for Frances and the apprentice team to be out there speaking to budding shipbuilders about the many great and fulfilling career opportunities available at Ferguson Marine.
