Mechanical Supervisor

Job title: Mechanical Supervisor (Nightshift)

Location: Port Glasgow (Onsite)

Salary: £43,656 (Plus nightshift allowance)

What you’ll be doing:

Leveraging your Mechanical Engineering experience, to lead and supervise a multiskilled team to ensure that all activities are completed on time and of the quality of output consistent with operational standard and requirement.

  • Installing main machinery on new build vessels.
  • Reading and understanding technical drawings.
  • Set up and aligning shafts thrusters, rudders gear boxes, pumps and commissioning mechanical equipment.
  • Set work to the team to maximise utilisation of labour and meet delivery schedules.
  • Providing technical advice to the team and identify process improvements.
  • Updating all relevant documents including daily progress registers, log books, accident book, training, performance and attendance.

Experience

  • Educated to HNC level in a related subject.
  • Supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
  • IT skills- MS Office.
