What you’ll be doing:

You will be responsible for the operation of the ESAB profile burning machine to satisfy departmental productivity, schedule, and quality requirements.

The role requires precision, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsible for:

Set up, adjustment and operation of the ESAB equipment, ensuring optimal performance and output quality.

Completing, record and report the pre-use operational, conditional and calibration checks at the required periodicity (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly etc.) for the continued safe and effective operation of the ESAB equipment.

Performing cutting tasks on various metal types and thicknesses, following drawings, technical information, and specifications provided, to deliver the end products to industry standards, compliant with company quality requirements, and in accordance with work priorities given by the line manager.

Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment appropriate to the tasks being performed and ensure the equipment is in safe working condition.

Completing routine maintenance tasks as required on the ESAB equipment, for which training has been provided, to ensure optimal functionality and availability.

Troubleshooting and resolving issues with the equipment promptly to minimise downtime

The ESAB Operator must have the flexibility and willingness to work outside regular core working hours when requested to satisfy the needs of the business, for which they will be compensated in accordance with company policy.

Experience:

Trade qualification in a relevant Trade.
Experience in hand burning using gas cutting equipment.
Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, technical information and specifications.
Material handling experience, including the use of handling equipment for plate, profiles, and parts.
Use of Trade hand tools.
